Creating Documents that must be witnessed

Document Witnessing - Configure a document of sending



GoodSign allows you to send document that require the signature to be "physically witnessed".

The signer and witness will use the same device to complete each section. This satisfies any law that requires a witness to be physically present.

If you have a document that must be witnessed, to get started simply upload your document from the dashboard to get started.

1. Activate the witness feature

2. Add the signer and activate witness toggle

3. After you've added the required fields for your signer, you will now need to select the "witness" from the signers drop down.

4. Add the fields for your witness to sign (just like any other signer).

In this example - I've selected "John Ballinger - witness" and added the fields for the witness to sign.

5. We can now send this document like normal.



FAQs about witness signing.



You do not need to know the name or email of the witness, the witness will update this.
When the signer is emailed, we will inform them that this document must be witnessed. We make it clear the witness must be physically present.
Witness signing is simple, we guide the signer through each step and have clear instructions to make sure their signature is witnessed when signing.
Witnesses must be physically present when signing, they will use the same device (phone, laptop, desktop) that the signer users and will enter their details.
Can the signer access the witnesses signature after the document is signed? No, signatures are not saved on the device and cannot be re-used.
